When it comes to finding a job in the Chicago area, chances are good you know of a few key places you want to be. However, what many people will experience is the need to move into new fields of study, where their skills are needed. Though the Chicago job market is likely to see improvements in 2012 and beyond, there are some changes to the type of jobs most likely to be available overall.

However, some areas and specific fields are likely to see more improvement than others. This could help to drastically slash the 10 percent unemployment that is present in the city right now.
The states very high unemployment numbers are incredibly worrisome for anyone who is looking for a job in the Chicago area. However, there are some areas where individuals are likely to see improvement overall. According to the Illinois Department of Employment Security, some areas to watch (and to consider moving into include software development, financial services, business sectors, health care and other areas of technology. Sales and leisure, including hospitality will also see an improvement in jobs in the coming year, experts believe.
For those who are already in these fields, it may be easy to find the type of employment needed. However, for those who need to find a job here and that do not have these skills, it may be necessary to consider additional training.
